Justin Allgaier

No. 51 BRANDT Professional Agriculture Chevrolet – Toyota/Save Mart 350

June 18, 2014 – Double Duty…Coming off of his best NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Cup Series (NSCS) finish at Michigan (MIS), Justin Allgaier will be making his first NSCS start at Sonoma Raceway. This weekend’s race is the first of two road course races this season. Sonoma is also one of the few tracks Allgaier has never raced on before. In preparation for Sunday’s 219-mile race, Allgaier will be competing in the K&N Pro Series West race on Saturday, June 21 at Sonoma. Allgaier will race the No. 83 Grigg Brothers/BRANDT Chevrolet for Admiraal Racing. Statistics show Allgaier has typically favored road course races in the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS). He has one win (Montreal 2012), two top fives and eight top 10s in 14 NNS road course starts.

Crew Chief Corner…Two of crew chief Steve Addington’s 20 wins came at Sonoma – Kyle Busch (2008) and Kurt Busch (2011).

Michigan Recap…Allgaier completed his first NSCS race at MIS last weekend. In qualifying, the No. 51 Carcoon Airflow Systems Chicagoland Speedway - Day 1Chevy team advanced to the second round, earning the 17th starting spot and tying Allgaier’s best career starting spot set at Charlotte Motor Speedway earlier this season. In the 400-mile race, Allgaier ran as high as the fourth position at the 2.0-mile track. The 28-year-old earned his best NSCS finish, crossing the stripe in the 16th position for HScott Motorsports.

Sunoco Rookie of the Year…After graduating to the NSCS this season, Allgaier is competing for Sunoco Rookie of the Year honors in the No. 51 BRANDT Chevy. In 2009, Allgaier took home the Rookie of the Year title in the NNS. After Michigan, Allgaier is currently third in the standings, behind Kyle Larson and Austin Dillon.

Justin Allgaier on Sonoma Raceway:

“I’m thrilled to be going to Sonoma [Raceway]. My team had a great weekend at Michigan [International Speedway] and I’m hoping that momentum can carry into this weekend. I’ve never raced at Sonoma so I will have a pretty steep learning curve. I’ll be racing Justin+Allgaier 550in the K&N Pro Series West on Saturday to gain experience. I’ve always enjoyed road racing, and I’m looking forward to the tough competition this weekend. My crew chief Steve Addington has a couple of wins there, so I will be relying on him for guidance.”

Crew Chief Steve Addington on Sonoma Raceway:

“Justin really likes road courses but with him never racing at Sonoma [Raceway] before, it will take some time for him to get acclimated. He will be able to use the K&N Series race as a learning opportunity for Sunday’s race. He will need to take care of the BRANDT Chevy during the race to be in the position to do well at the end. His confidence is up after Michigan last weekend, so hopefully that rolls over to this weekend.”

On Friday, the No. 51 BRANDT team advanced to the second round of knockout qualifying, earning Allgaier the 24th starting spot. He was able to lead six laps in the No. 51 BRANDT Chevy at Pocono, increasing his NSCS career total to 10. After 160 laps of racing at the Tricky Triangle, he completed the Pocono 400 in the 27th position for HScott Motorsports.

Meet Justin… After NSCS practice on Saturday, June 14, Allgaier will head to Plymouth Speedway, located in Plymouth, Ind., to race his dirt car. Gates and grandstands open at 4:00 p.m. On Sunday, June 15, at 10:15 a.m. Allgaier will appear for a question and answer session at the Chevy Stage located in the MIS fan zone.

Sunoco Rookie of the Year…After graduating to the NSCS this season, Allgaier is competing for Sunoco Rookie of the Year honors in the No. 51 Carcoon USA Chevy. In 2009, Allgaier took home the Rookie of the Year title in the NNS. After Pocono, Allgaier is currently third in the standings, behind Kyle Larson and Austin Dillon.

Justin Allgaier on Michigan International Speedway:

“I enjoy going to Michigan [International Speedway]. It’s a very fast two-mile track, and it’s wide so it provides a lot of different racing lines. If you car isn’t handling quite like you want it, you have multiple lines to try and that can be a big advantage during the race. It’s also close to Chevy’s headquarters so there’s a little extra pressure to make sure we run really well at their home track.”

Crew Chief Steve Addington on Michigan International Speedway:

“We’ve been making gains every week at HScott Motorsports. We just need to keep plugging away this weekend. Justin’s raced at Michigan [International Speedway] a few times in ARCA and Nationwide, but this weekend will be his first time in a Sprint Cup car, so he’ll have to adjust to having more horsepower here.”

March 06, 2014 – Viva Las Vegas: Justin Allgaier will be making his first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (LVMS) in the No. 51 BRANDT Professional Agriculture Chevy. Allgaier and the No. 51 team will get a little extra track time this week at LVMS as the track is open for four hours of testing on Thursday. Statistically, in his NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) career at LVMS, Allgaier has done very well. He has one top-five, and four top10s in his five career NNS starts at the 1.5-mile track, with a best finish of second.

Sunoco Rookie of the Year: After graduating to the NSCS this season, Allgaier is competing for Sunoco Rookie of the Year honors in the No. 51 BRANDT Chevy. Phoenix Recap: Allgaier made his second NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start at Phoenix International Raceway (PIR) on Sunday afternoon. KYLE BUSCH WINS THE FOOD CITY 250 AT BRISTOL

BRISTOL, Tenn. August 24, 2013 – Friday night’s Food City 250 wasn’t exactly a battle royal, as far as the outcome was concerned.

Kyle_Busch_5x500

In fact, when Kyle Busch wins the Coors Light Pole for a NASCAR Nationwide Series race, as he did Friday afternoon at Bristol Motor Speedway, the rest of the field might as well start writing concession speeches.

Pulling away from runner-up Brad Keselowski over a green-flag run that consumed the final 72 laps, Busch won his sixth NNS event at the .533-mile short track. The victory was his ninth of the season and the series-record 60th of his career.

In winning for the 15th time at Bristol across NASCAR’s top three series, Busch led 228 of 250 laps. The pole he won earlier in the day was his sixth of the season. Each time, Busch has gone on to win the race.

Kyle+Busch v500The victory set up a try for a second weekend sweep at Bristol for Busch, who started with a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series win on Wednesday night. To win Saturday’s Irwin Tools Night Race in the Sprint Cup Series, however, Busch will have to come from the back of the field, having spun during his Cup qualifying attempt Friday afternoon.

“You’ve gotta win two to go for three, and this is ‘two,” Busch exulted in Victory Lane.

Austin Dillon ran third behind Busch and Keselowski. Justin Allgaier was fourth followed by rookie Kyle Larson.

When Busch wrecked during Cup qualifying, many in the crowd cheered loudly. But Busch found perhaps the best revenge — winning, and winning emphatically, scoring his 19th Nationwide Series perfect driver rating of 150.0.

“It comes from preparation, it comes from the shop, it comes from practice here,” Busch said in explaining his dominance. (Crew chief) Adam (Stevens) and I – we work real well together. Those guys work hard. Today – just a great car and great job by these guys putting Kyle+Busch 500together such a great Monster Energy Camry.

“It was a lot of fun tonight. It’s cool when you can start up front, lead laps like that, but yet you have some battles with holding off the 22 (Keselowski) and having to pass the 32 (Kyle Larson, who led briefly after a restart on Lap 110) – just a fun day. Whether you’re cheering or booing, don’t matter. We’re here to win races, take trophies home and that’s what we’re going to try to do (Saturday) night, too.”

Austin Dillon ran third behind Busch and Keselowski. Justin Allgaier was fourth followed by rookie Kyle Larson.

Busch frustrated Keselowski’s bid to win his fifth NNS race in his fifth straight start.

“We were close, just not quite good enough,” Keselowski said ruefully. “We just came up a little bit short. Obviously, on the track, I didn’t have quite enough speed to get by Kyle.”

Brian Vickers’ wreck out of Turn 4 on Lap 167 continued a succession of trouble for series championship contenders. By the time Vickers nosed into the inside wall on the frontstretch, Regan Smith already had lost two laps pitting under green because of a loose wheel.

Sam Hornish Jr., the points leader entering the race, also struggled, losing a lap to Busch on the track. Shortly after a restart on Lap 179, Hornish’s Ford slapped the outside wall in Turn 4 and fell back to 13th, one lap down.

Elliott Sadler also went a lap down with an ill-handling car but got it back with a free pass as the highest-scored lapped car after the caution for Vickers’ accident. Sadler finished 10th, two positions ahead of Hornish. Smith was 21st and Vickers 24th.

Hornish retained the series lead by six points over Dillon… In the battle for the owners’ championship, and Busch’s No. 54 Joe Gibbs Racing Camry cut the lead of Keselowski’s No. 22 Ford from 22 points to 16.

To mark the announcement, BRANDT has teamed up with Turner Scott Motorsports and Brazilian driver Miguel Paludo for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Chicagoland Speedway on September13, 2013.

In its 60th Anniversary year, BRANDT has established BRANDT do Brasil to build its business in the high-profile agriculture country.

“Over the last half-century, Brazil has become a global leader in agriculture production,” said Rick Brandt, President and CEO of BRANDT. Miguel+Paludo x 500“Brazil, along with a handful of other countries, is a key growth area as we continue to focus on international expansion.

I don’t think there would be anything more special than to go to victory lane in front of BRANDT while representing my home country.”

REGAN SMITH RETURNS HOME IN HOPES OF REGAINING THE LEAD

August 07, 2013 – Over the last seven races, Regan Smith of Cato, N.Y., has compiled 189 points in the NASCAR Nationwide Series Regan smith 500championship standings. On the surface that might seem like a healthy amount of points.

After analyzing the stats of his fellow top-10 drivers over the same time period, however, a different picture is painted.

Smith’s points tally of 189 ranks last among all drivers currently in the top 10, indicative of the slide he has taken during that time. Granted he is currently tied with Sam Hornish Jr. for second, 14 markers behind Austin Dillon, and led the standings for 10 consecutive weeks (Talladega through New Hampshire). It was only eight races ago, however, when Smith finished first at Michigan and left the Wolverine State with a 58-point advantage in the standings.

Austin Dillon has led all drivers in the top 10 with 270 points collected over the last seven races, followed by Elliott Sadler (255), Brian Austin DillonVickers (249), Kyle Larson (248) and Hornish (247). Brian Scott (226), Trevor Bayne (220), Justin Allgaier (212), Parker Kligerman (212) and Smith round out the top 10.

With the series heading to New York for Saturday’s Zippo 200 at Watkins Glen, Smith hopes he’ll be able to reclaim his spot atop the standings in front of a hometown crowd. In six national series start at The Glen, Smith has one top-10 finish, which was a ninth-place performance in last year’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race. In two NASCAR Nationwide starts at the 2.45-mile road course, Smith has finishes of 19th and 23rd. He struggled in the first road-course event of the season at Road America, where he finished 32nd.

Dillon, who took over the points lead from Hornish two races ago at Indy, is seeking advice from teammate and road-racing specialist Max Papis to ensure that Watkins Glen doesn’t present any hiccoughs. Dillon’s only series start at The Glen resulted in a 23rd-place finish. Earlier this season at Road America, he finished 10th.
